Greetings!
I'm delighted to share today a documentary I was commissioned to make for QueerAF as part of their first ever Trans+ History Week project. It's the story of the interconnected worlds of synthesizers, electronic music and trans+ people, starting with Wendy Carlos and the ground-breaking Switched-On Bach album to the experimental pop of SOPHIE to noise artists and musicians working today. With an original soundtrack made (almost entirely) on a Moog synthesizer.
I speak to academic Roshanak Keshti, musician and programmer Zoe Blade, and sound artists Cai Gwilym Pritchard and Chi Williams.
I am very proud of this documentary and grateful for the opportunity to share my very specific knowledge of a very specific part of queer history.
Keep an eye on our Twitch channel for a behind-the-scenes stream about the documentary, as well as an upcoming soundtrack release on our Bandcamp page.
I hope you like it!
